MD of Oxford Out of the Blue - 2023-2024

I served as Musical Director of the international accapella sensation Oxford Out of the Blue, who have amassed 20 million views on Youtube. I Oversaw successful tours of China and the United states as well as a month long Edinbrugh fringe run whilst producing our album 'Spotlight' and writing most of the groups arrangements. We performed for tens of thousands of people around the world during my tenure.

Original Musical Demos - The Piano in the Corner

The Piano in the Corner (Book by Ethan Mclucas, Music and Lyrics by Henry Nurse) is a show all about the British stiff upper lip and the way it prevents honest conversation. It is also about the post-war ‘Keep Calm and Carry On' attitude and keeping the illusion of family harmony at all costs. The first act, set in the 1970s, follows the girls Pamela and Carolyn (both born of different fathers) and their mother and stepfather, Cynthia and Ian, as they go about their lives without ever having properly talked about the trauma of the death of Cynthia’s first husband. The second act, a generation later, explores the disastrous consequences of such generational guilt, ending in family fracture and elder abuse. The musical is scored for 8 performers and piano accompaniment. Explore two demos produced by Henry.

I begin my job as MD and conductor of Just A Capella in late Februrary. Having begun my studies conducting with John Traill in Oxford, I have furthered my skills by taking the autumn and winter courses with the Association of British Choral Directors and am booked on to the Guildhall ensemble conducting course in April.
